In 2001, Friends of Galileo Astronomy Club gave the City of Longview a model Solar System Walk.

It is a series of granite markers along the path on the west side of Lake Sacajawea. The markers show the relative sizes and distances of the planets over 1.64 miles, as if our solar system were scaled to the lake.

Find the Sun and all the planets out to Pluto and your walk represents 3.7 billion miles in our solar system!
