Solar system map
In 2001, Friends of Galileo Astronomy Club gave the City of Longview a model Solar System Walk.
It is a series of granite markers along the path on the west side of Lake Sacajawea. The markers show the relative sizes and distances of the planets over 1.64 miles, as if our solar system were scaled to the lake. Find the Sun and all the planets out to Pluto and your walk represents 3.7 billion miles in our solar system! Need a little help finding your way to the planets? Here we have a few ways to find the granite markers. Statue of Sacajawea Sacajawea is not part of the Solar System Walk, but we included her here because it's her park. Say hello as you enjoy your trip through the solar system. |

Using What3Words
What3Words is a very interesting mapping tool, designed to give an address to places without an address. It's free.
It's much easier to label and share locations than with latitudes and longitudes, and it's more precise than Google Plus codes (more information at what3words.com)
Enter the three word address in the app, or click the link to use the address in a browser.
